Forget 101 dalmatians - when it comes to a gathering of adorable pets nothing beats 222 golden retrievers.
The record-breaking number of golden retrievers were pictured at Guisachan House in Tomich, Invernessshire, the birthplace of the breed, for the Highland gathering of the gentle canines.
The event was hosted by the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland at the Highland gathering last month.

The club first held a similar event in 2006 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the organization.
This year was the largest ever gathering of retrievers at the place from where the iconic breed originates, going back to the 19th century.

Bringing together so many pets proved a headache for organiser Jim Richardsson, but it was all worthwhile for the dog enthusiast.
Mr Richardson, a GRCS committee member, said: ‘The last three months of planning were a bit manic, but it was all worthwhile. I had a PA system and I was shouting at the owners “Get out! Get out of the photo!"
