I remember watching a documentary film called “Life After People” and being completely astonished at just how quickly nature would reclaim its space once all of us people were gone. Of course, it’s difficult to image such radical changes on a global scale, but all we need to do is to lower our eyes and see what’s happening just below our feet. That’s all it takes to notice the remarkable strength of the grass, flowers, weeds, and roots that can conquer even concrete, that mighty urban symbol of stability and strength. This post is dedicated to the magnificent tree roots that beautifully resist the boundaries set for them by our civilization.
