Dog Biscuits

Love Baking? Don't Forget To Treat Your Pups When You're In The Kitchen!

5-INGREDIENT APPLESAUCE DOG TREATS

Yield: depends on size of cookie cutters
Ingredients
  • 3 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350º F and line 1-2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Combine flour and cinnamon together in a large bowl and mix in applesauce, water and egg until fully incorporated.
  3. Knead mixture until a smooth dough forms, then turn it out onto a lightly floured surface.
  4. Roll dough out to 1/4-inch thickness and use your cookie cutter(s) to cut out treats.
  5. Transfer dog treats to lined baking sheets and bake for 40 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Remove and let cool completely before treating your pup.

A Sweet Treat For Your Pup: Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats

PEANUT BUTTER DOG TREATS

Yield: depends on size of cookie cutter
Ingredients
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour (or rice or coconut flour)
  • 3/4 cup natural, organic peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 large egg
  • cookie cutter (varying sizes, optional)
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350º F and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl or mixer, beat together peanut butter and pumpkin puree until smooth and creamy.
  3. Beat in the egg until it is fully incorporated.
  4. Alternately add flour and water to peanut butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Beat until dough begins to come together and is no longer too sticky.
  5. Turn dough out on a lightly floured surface and knead for 2 minutes, or until fully formed into a ball.
  6. Roll dough out to 1/4-1/2-inch thickness and use your cookie cutter(s) to cut out desired shapes and amounts of treats.
  7. Transfer to baking dish and place in oven.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes (baking time depends on size), or until cookies are golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool completelythen treat your pup to a snack!
